Port LDA has
engaged a private consultant to carried out of the details study at
the proposed site (Rancha-Rancha Industrial). This will be the future
transhipment centre for the region. Navigational
access: a) channel width of 250 meters b) channel dredged
depth of 14 meters ACD C) entrance turning basin radius of 675
meters
Breakwater
length is approximetly 2000 meters
Proposed
port facilities: a) Breakbulk and Ro-Ro facility b) Vehicle
ferry and Ro-Ro facility c) General cargo and container
yards d) Institutional complex e) Fuel pier and remote
storage f) Roadways g) Area for future port expansion h)
Mixed development area
2. Traffic Flow System At
Financial Park To upgrade the road system to facilitate future
development around the Financial Park area. The project
components are:
a)
Upgrading of Jalan OKK Abdullah into dual carriageway - 1.0
km Building a minor circular road that connects to the
existing roundabout at Jalan
Merdeka into a dual carriageway - 1.2 km
b) Upgrading of
Jalan Tanjung Purun up to Jalan Jumidar Buyong junction into a dual
carriageway - 1.7 km
c) Building a major circular road
connecting Jalan Merdeka to Jalan Jumidar Buyong into a dual
carriageway - 1.4km
3. Low Cost Housing
Scheme This
project is under constructions and expected to complete end of year
1999. These houses will
be rented out to the lower income group.
Proposed
implementation is to be carried out in two phases: a) Phase 1 :
Consist of 320 units in Sungai Bedaun b) Phase 2 : Consist of
1,680 units in Kampung Genggarak
